NAT OFFICE BUILDING COMPLEX

The National Authority for Tunnels is part of the Ministry of Transportation in Egypt and was established in 1983 for the implementation of underground metro projects. NAT is operating 3 lines of metro with total length of 93.3 km (57.97 mi) and a 4th line under construction of total length of 17.2 km (10.68 mi).

New head office for NAT is inspired by connection. The NAT is connecting Cairo through a network to metro lines, therefore the head office is constructed of five corporate office buildings on 34,000 m2, each of four floors, connected together via bridges in different levels, with underground parking area.

A land of area 53,162 m2 Located in the Pyramids desert zone west of the ring road had been dedicated for the construction of the Project. The new office complex will be
Constructed on 20% of the land area to compile not less than 1,500 employees, in addition to a separate building for the technicians and drivers for not less than 200 persons.

The Office Complex will include the following Buildings:

  • Head Quarter building.
  • Civil Engineering department building.
  • Electro-mechanical department building, Planning & Study department building, Executed Project department building, Financial & Commercial department building, Human Resources & Administration department building, Main Conference Hall, Investment Activity building. 
  • Technicians & drivers building + Maintenance workshop for NAT vehicles which will be constructed in the Metro Workshop area.

That in addition to adequate parking areas for the NAT and the visitors' vehicles.

The project is divided into several stages: 1- Avant projet & perspectives, 2- Conceptual design stage, 2- Detailed design stage. Concerning these stages, BECT provided the following consultancy / design services: Landscape, Architectural, Structural, MEP, Specifications and BOQ.
