Gaza international airport was from the government to establish a stable connection and transportation means to the world. The airport at an area of 2.35 km2 (235 hectares) is planned to accommodate 700,000 passengers per year and was inaugurated in 1998.
Administration building, arrival/departure halls and other facilities were designed by BECT experts to a modern standards and advanced technology.
